A Forward thinking market concept

Why does responsibly sourced, well thought out, and honest food, have a stigma that it can only be consumed on a white table cloth at a fine dining restaurant? The award winning team at Restaurant North plans to pioneer change to that common misconception.

Dine in

Amidst the hustle and bustle of the everyday, its important that we not forget how nice it is to sip our coffee slowly and enjoy every bite of our sandwich. So sit down and stay a while. Whether you’re in business pants or yoga pants, alone or with friends, there’s a place for you at the Market.

Grab 'n go

Our lives are constantly in motion and there’s no sign of slowing down. Luckily we’ve taken the time for you, and created a menu full of farm-fresh, wholesome foods that are as enjoyable on the run as they are at the table. It’s slow-food, sped up. Don’t want to leave the kids alone in the car? Don’t worry. Order your food in advance and we’ll bring it outside to you, wherever in town you might be.

Spontaneous

At its best the choreography of the kitchen is a performance worthy of a theatre stage: pans sizzle while flames rise, mysteriously rich smells hang in air, and cooks move together in unison, with deceptive ease and grace. To share a private dinner with friends at Market North’s chef’s table is a rare opportunity to partake fully in this excitement. Diners and cooks should interact. At Market North’s chef’s table, they do.

Collaborative

A dinner at Market North chef’s table is a truly collaborative experience.

Whether you’re looking to close a business deal in style or host a rare ladies night out, our Chef’s table allows you the opportunity to enjoy an inspired meal, tailored to your tastes, with a intimacy that is hard to foster in a more formal restaurant setting.

ConviviaL

Though our emphasis at North is multifaceted, we are truly passionate about beverage. Whether you’re planning to celebrate an engagement, a birthday, or simply another week gone by, we look forward to tailoring a selection of wines and seasonally inspired cocktails to heighten the experience.

Blooming hill Farm

Guy is at North almost twice a week dropping off the bounty of his farm. It’s a privilege to receive Guy’s “what’s fresh” list every Wednesday and Friday—the same list he has been supplying the great restaurants of New York City and the Hudson Valley for more that 33 years.  Guy is a farmer in the truest sense. He is also wise; you look into his eyes and you see that behind those eyes there are stories. Have you ever been caught in a buffalo stampede? Probably not. Guy Jones has.

I & Me Farm

To meet Mimi Edelman is to meet a woman who is emblematic of everything North has come to mean and hopes to mean. You shake her hand and its calloused. There’s dirt under her nails. More often than not though, you won’t shake hands at all. She’ll hug you. When her car pulls up the restaurant throughout the week our staff delights in the new flavors and colors she has brought with her. You hold one of her tender young greens and wonder how one little leaf could possess so much vitality and spirit.  Then she smiles at you, and you wonder the same of her.

Sycamore Farm

Kevin Smith’s family began selling their crop at the Union Square Green Market in 1981, when he was just a small child. It is no exaggeration to say that Kevin, who runs the farm today, has grown up alongside the corn stalks and tomato vines that sprawl across his family’s land. Seeing Kevin’s truck pull up to North is among nature’s first suggestions that summer is on its way. One taste of his tomatoes, still warm from the sun, is all it takes to confirm the fact.
